Yu-Gi-Oh!

Forbidden Memories

© 1996 KAZUKI TAKAHASHI

Warning: If you haven't bought Yu-Gi-Oh, don't, at least till you read this!

If you've already bought it, God be with you, grab a lucky charm and prepare yourself. This game is for hardcore Yu-Gi-Oh fans, and people who love to be abused by game programs. Advancement thru the game requires hundreds of card battles then you'll usually wind up using some sort of cheat, like below. To win you have to dominate the field with a high attack card, which takes fusions of 1-5 or more of your cards. Just to compete with the game's opponent which (as you procede) has high attack without any fusions. You've been warned! (Please see disclaimer below!)

Personal Quote: (from a user who saved his money just to buy this game) "It's a waste of money, it's too hard & takes to long to build the deck. And you lose too many times and have to restart & the ending is almost impossible."

A popular & very successful card game in Japan, & becoming very popular here. At times the game can be very frustrating. (So, instead of throwing it back in the box) We'll try to help.

Passwords & Fusions Page

A new Yu-Gi-Oh will be out for the PS2 soon.

Warning: To follow anyone's hints can be dangerous. You do so at your own risk. These are provided to enhance gameplay not take away from it, always try playing without hints, first!

Hint: The cards you recieve at first are limited in their potential (weak). So the best way to increase your power early (save yourselve the frustration) is to start new games and trade to another memory card.

Of course this takes two memory cards and a little time. But you get a lot of useful combinations (fusions) & life-saving magic & equip cards!

The trick is you can transfer cards from the new game into your chest (exit without finishing your deck building) then save, go to trade & trade them into the one memory card you are using. (Instructions to trade are in the Manual)

Hint #2: Get plenty of thunder based cards & dragons! Basically any dragon - 1600 or above can fuse w/ thunder card to make twin-headed thunder dragon(2800/2100). Or take a dragon (<1600) & fuse w/thunder to make thunder dragon, then fuse with another dragon (<1600) or another thunder to make twin-headed thunder dragon. Also (check this out before using) any thunder above 1600 mixed with dragon(<1600) will fuse to make twin-headed thunder dragon, too.  Then get as many equip cards (dragon treasure, horn of light,  dark energy, beast fangs, invigoration) as possible in your deck, you'll need them. Also use field effect cards (umi/water, or mountain) to raise your card's power/defense & to hopefully lower your opponent's.

Hint #3: Learn to use the cards zodiac signs to battle, they help your attack & save you from defeat!

Fact: There are 722 cards in Forbidden Memories. Attacking with the square button allows you to see battle in 3d.
